Replicator
The detached back part is a replicator, not just replicator-like. --Axaj 19:09, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
It's not regular enough to be a replicator in the classical sense. Replicators in HighLife etc. return to the same (fixed) population after exponentially increasing periods of time. The Titanic Toroidal Traveller does not have this property. If you're still not convinced, note that this pseudo-replicator does not produce *exact copies* of itself, without leaving unwanted debris.
Maybe you're getting confused with the true replicator on a 6-cell cylinder, the T-tetromino.

- I don't think it needs to be regular to be a replicator. For instance, the replicator in B36/S245 grows ver irregularly, but is still classified as a replicator. --Axaj 23:16, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
- The replicator in B36/S245 doesn't grow irregularly at all: it returns to the minimal population after an exponentially increasing number of generations (400, 1600, 6400, 25600...), and so does the replicator in HighLife.
