Talk:Tutorials/Finding conduits
Errr... this is way too long. Maybe split it into Tutorials/Catalyses and the actual Tutorials/Finding Conduits and shorten/simplify those as well? Goldenratio (talk) 23:35, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
- Agreed.

Alright, done. Both pages still need cleanup though, as I just copy-pasted and deleted from the original page. Goldenratio (talk) 16:03, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
B-to-H converter
The page claims that the B-to-H converter cannot be connected because "one of the eater 2s in that conduit and one of the fishhooks in the next section would get in the way of each other". However, it CAN be connected, to both the Fx77 and F117 eater positions:

Different people explore rules in different ways
Currently the section "A recommended process" begins with line "Here is a summary of my typical conduit-finding process:" Should this be reworded in some way, now that the recommended process is significantly changed from the original recommendations, suggesting to use software tools instead of manual exploration?
I do not know if it is a good idea to always recommend software whenever possible. Certainly using a software tool can speed up things, under the assumption that you know what are you doing, and under another assumption that you want the end result (as opposed to understanding possibilities).
In my opinion, it might be better to avoid an overemphasis on software in tutorials for newcomers -- when you are just starting to explore the area, and/or when you are exploring a new alien rule, actually exploring it manually may well be "the recommended process", at least until you understand things enough to know what happens when you use a software tool. Besides, manual exploration is more fun. Confocal (talk) 11:44, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
