Tanner's p46 is a period 46 oscillator that was found by Tanner Jacobi on October 20, 2017^{[1]} involving a pi running a small conduit containing a PT8P and PT38P.
Synthesis
Mark Niemiec posted a trivial 19glider synthesis of Tanner's p46 two hours after its discovery. This can be reduced to 15 gliders to produce a stator variant that replaces the two snakes with eater 1s.
Uses
David Bell used Tanner's p46 and a twin bees shuttle to build a period 46 glider gun:

There are also various other guns that can be constructed by combining two of the oscillators themselves, one of which produces middleweight spaceships without any gliders required.
In June 2018, Nathaniel Johnston built a gliderless LWSS gun using three copies of Tanner's p46.^{[2]}
