Teardrop is a common seed, occasionally also usable as an induction coil, which in 20 generations evolves into the formation of two beehives seen below. Compare this with butterfly, where the beehives appear five cells further apart.

In HighLife, the teardrop also evolves into beehives, but they are spaced a bit closer, like half of a honey farm. However, most common predecessors of a teardrop in ConwayLife do not reach that stage in HighLife and instead evolve into two blinkers.
