Tie

A boat-tie consisting of a pair or boats

Tie is a term used in naming certain still lifes (and the stator of certain oscillators) that indicates that the object consists of two smaller objects joined point to point, as in boat-tie. Other examples include ship-tie and boat-ship-tie.
