Trans-boar with long3 tail is a 12-cell still life.

This still life is comprised of the normally stable boat with a normally unstable long3 tail attached. While it technically has no isomers, it is named trans due to the corner part of the tail being farther from the boat; the other "isomer", cis-boat with long3 tail, has this corner part slightly closer.

Unlike the cis-version, the trans-boat with long3 tail can be shrunk down to three smaller still lifes: the boat with very long tail, boat with long tail and boat with tail. Due to the trans version being the only one which can be shrunk, these three do not have cis-trans prefixes.

Commonness

Among still lifes with 12 cells, this is the 43rd most common still life according to Catagolue. Its position among all still lifes of all populations as a whole, however, is currently unknown.

Glider synthesis

A 6-glider synthesis for this still life was found in July 2020.[1]
