Wickstretcher 1 is the first wickstretcher that explicitly constructed. Its front end was constructed by Hartmut Holzwart and its back end was constructed by Dean Hickerson. It was found in October 1992.
It works by having its front end stretch ants at a speed of c/4 and its back end stabilize the ants. Its back end can also be seen stabilizing ants in electric fence.
