36P25 is a period-25 oscillator discovered by Mitchell Riley on September 17, 2022 via symmetric CatForce and monomerised by iNoMed immediately after.[1] It is composed of an octomino II, or rather a polyplet related to it, stabilized by a ship+fishhook catalyst and a block+fishhook catalyst. The dimer used two copies interacting with each other in place of the block+fishhook. In terms of its 36 cells, it is the second smallest known period-25 oscillator, behind only 30P25.
It gives off a complex spark, which can support a p25 century hassler and a p75 R-pentomino hassler.

A 15-glider synthesis for this oscillator was found in November 2022.[2] The glider cost was reduced to 14 gliders in April 2023, after a 4-glider synthesis of the ship+fishhook constellation was found.[3] On November 18, 2024, KtT lowered the cost to 13 gliders.[4][5]
