Discovered by Mitchell Riley
Year of discovery 2022

74P34 is a period-34 oscillator discovered by Mitchell Riley on July 6, 2022 using CatForce,[1] and is the first non-trivial example of its period. A 34-glider synthesis was found on the day of the oscillator's discovery.[2]

It can be made into a sparker by adding a block and beehive, which enables the construction of a period-34 bumper.[3] This is the first independent reflector compatible with period-34 glider streams, as well as the lowest possible repeat time of any bumper.
