Pseudo Life is a Life-like cellular automaton with rulestring B357/S238. It is a chaotic rule with evolution that resembles Conway's Life , but almost none of the engineered patterns work.
Description
Pseudo Life is a Life-like cellular automaton with the following evolution rules:
A dead cell with 3, 5 or 7 alive neighbours will be born in the next generation; otherwise, the cell will remain dead.
An alive cell with 2, 3 or 8 alive neighbours will survive in the next generation; otherwise the cell will die.
Viewed as the set of neighbour-counting conditions for birth and survival, the rule definition may be seen as the union of Grounded Life (B35/S23), DryLife (B37/S23) and EightLife (B3/S238). The presence of B5 has the largest effect on the evolution, causing engineered patterns from Life to fail. In contrast, many patterns either do not depend on presence of B7 and S8, or function without them in an analogous way.

A predecessor of the 2c/5o spaceship appearing in the siderake[9] (click above to open LifeViewer )
Based on the natural puffer, there are engineered c/2 orthogonal spaceships of periods 24 (2-engine[10] ), 56 (2-engine[10] ), 72 (6-engine[11] ).
On December 10, 2022, FWKnightship constructed a 24c/48 siderake emitting 2c/5o spaceships.[9] The siderake works by incrementally building a tub+blinker constellation and then sparking it into a collision between the tub and a beehive spark.
