Geology is a Life-like cellular automaton with rulestring B3578/S24678.
This rule treats black cells on white backgrounds the same as white cells on black backgrounds, and is therefore self-complementary under black/white reversal . It is a very well-balanced and chaotic rule that forms large "continents" of live cells surrounded by chaos at a roughly 50% density, but they eventually erode away into smaller "islands". Nevertheless, black regions can be stabilized in various ways.
