p129 R-pentomino hassler (or 38P129) is a period-129 oscillator discovered by Luka Okanishi on August 21, 2022, based on a partial found on the previous day.[1] It is the smallest known period-129 oscillator, superseding the 146-cell p3 22hd reflector loop.
The only known oscillators with greater period and fewer cells are Gabriel's p138 (36 cells), pentadecathlon on Rob's p16 (p240, 33 cells), and an infinite family of extensions of the p60 glider shuttle of period 60 + 120 N (29 cells).
A 14-glider synthesis of this oscillator was found on the day of its discovery.[2]
A new period-129 glider gun was found on August 21, 2022[3][4] and reduced on August 25, 2022[5]; it was the smallest known gun with this period[6] until the discovery of the period-43 glider gun.
