The p54 shuttle is a period-54 shuttle oscillator that is stabilized by four eater 1s. It is a variant of the twin bees shuttle that was found by David Buckingham in 1973. The eater 1s cause the shuttle to leave blocks, thus extending its period.
A four-fold version of this oscillator appeared semi-naturally on November 24, 2018, in a symmetric soup submitted to Catagolue by Apple Bottom.[1]
