p58 pre-pulsar shuttle is a period-58 shuttle oscillator discovered by Tanner Jacobi on April 25, 2015[1] and was the smallest known oscillator of that period until the discovery of p58 pi-heptomino hassler in 2022. The previous record holder was the Snark-based period 58 glider loop.
Jeremy Tan and iNoMed found a glider synthesis for a stator variant of this oscillator in July 2021.[2] Tan later found a 188-glider synthesis for the canonical version on September 11, 2021.[3]
