Statorless p3 is a period-3 oscillator found by Jason Summers in 2012.[1] It has no stator, giving it a volatility of 100%. It is the first known period 3 oscillator with this property, and was named Pattern of the Year for 2012.

On July 31, 2024, Keith Amling proved that this is the unique smallest statorless period-3 oscillator in terms of its minimum population of 140 cells.[2]
