Thanks, I've fixed them (and lowered the protection of this article). Nathaniel (talk) 04:03, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Too many still lifes in the Wiki?

I personally think there should be less still lifes in the wiki. The wiki shouldn't be a pattern database but more of a place to learn more about CGOL and related Cellular Automata. I find it strange that there are incomplete lists of 26-bit still lifes (of which Mickey Mouse is not the only one). There should either be a complete list of such still lifes or no list at all. Any thoughts? Gmc_nxtman(talk)

Agreed. (It's worth noting that since this comment was made, the 11- and 12-bit still lifes have all been filled in, by User:Apple Bottom and User:AwesoMan3000 respectively) Perhaps we could instead turn these into a list, e.g. List of still lifes up to 10 bits, List of 11-bit still lifes, List of 12-bit still lifes, etc.? Not actually exponential?

Okay, so I just calculated the ratios between terms in OEISicon light 11px.pngA019473 and OEISicon light 11px.pngA056613 and they suggest that the growth rates for strict and pseudo still lifes might be slightly faster than exponential:

For pseudo still lifes, it's admittedly less clear, but towards the end the sequence reaches about 2.59, higher than the 2.56 claimed in the article:
