Tapeworm (or snake with curl) is a 13-cell still life. Despite being particularly common, this still life did not have a name until 2019, when the two aforementioned names were mentioned in its Catagolue comment section.[1]

Construction

Tapeworm is known to be constructible with 4 gliders.[1] Several known syntheses can be found in Mark Niemiec's database.[2] A 4-glider synthesis was found in August 2017.[3]

It is the 102nd most common still life on Adam P. Goucher's Catagolue, being less common than cis-boat with nine but more common than loaf back tie loaf. It is the 6th most common still life with 14 cells, being less common than cis-boat on cap but more common than boat with hooked nine.

The octo3obj database contains four collisions with tapeworm in the ash.[5]
