This template can be used to quickly and easily embed a link to the category of strict still lifes with a given cell count. For example,

The snargehive is a {{slcells|6}}-bit still life.

becomes

The snargehive is a 6-bit still life.

(This is much more convenient than having to type the equivalent of

The snargehive is a [[:Category:Strict still lifes with 6 cells|6]]-bit still life.

everytime you want to link to a cell count-based pattern category.)

The template takes a single parameter, which can be passed without a name or as cells=.

It is also possible to provide an arbitrary displayed link text using the optional parameter text=:

The snargehive is a {{slcells|6|text=six-bit}} still life.

becomes

The snargehive is a six-bit still life.
