Please do not blank pages

If you think a page should be deleted, use the proposed deletion template with an explanation of why you think the page should be deleted. That is, add the following to the top of a page

{{proposeddeletion|insert reason for deletion here}}

Still lifes with low notability

There are many very short pages about still lifes that I suspect are not notable. Examples include:

  • Trans-long_barge_with_tail
  • Boat_tie_long_snake
  • Claw with nine
  • Eater head siamese snake
  • Boat tie snake
  • Claw_with_boat_with_tail
  • Do they really deserve a notability tag or proposed deletion, or are there additional rules in keeping pages of still lifes?

    If you think a pattern is probably not notable, you should add a notability tag. If you think a pattern is definitely not notable you should add a proposed deletion tag. There's not much else you can do directly, since you don't have permission to delete pages. You may also start a conversation in the tiki bar or on the forums, or on Discord.
    Regarding your proposed deletions for Testitemqlstudop and Dandan‎‎, you only said that they should be deleted without really giving an explanation for why they should be deleted. For example, you could have written "Dandan is a Game of Life Community member and does not represent Charity Engine" or something similar. Just make sure you provide a reason.
    And last, but not least, thanks for your many helpful edits since joining the wiki!

    I've seen people on this wiki move pages marked for deletion into a page they want to create (userspace, redirect, or even mainspace) with redirect suppressed so that it gets deleted without actually hitting the delete button. However, I've only seen this done for those with speedy deletion templates, not proposed deletion templates. HotdogPi (talk) 12:23, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

    Please do not remove existing information

    Please do not remove existing information from articles. The page Pentoad 2 contained information about semi-natural occurrence and glider synthesis with forum references. Likewise Pentoad 1H2 had information about naming and glider synthesis, again with forum references.

    If you are merging articles, please make sure the existing information is moved (and not simply deleted). Further, multiple similar merges should be previously discussed either on the wiki or on the forums, and should be explained in the edit summary. Confocal (talk) 13:13, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
