User talk:Entity Valkyrie 2/22-bit eater

The only practical use for this pattern seems to be giving the snacker spark more clearance. Otherwise, it is just an arbitrary replacement for two eaters. Notability of eaters should probably be restricted to patterns with a wide variety of uses or an interesting and unique reaction. This pattern seems to have neither.

Yeah, I don't disagree. Will move it back to Entity Valkyrie's user pages in a couple of weeks if no other reasons show up to keep it. The eater is recorded perfectly well in the snacker article already, and there doesn't really seem to be any reason to pay more attention to it than that. Also, nobody has ever called it (or anything else) "22-bit eater" before. It's a better name than "eater 6", but it's not clear why a name is needed.
I moved it out of the User namespace because Entity Valkyrie added a link to it from 68P9. My instinct was just to revert that change, since we certainly shouldn't have main-namespace links to articles that aren't in the main namespace. However, a fair number of Entity Valkyrie's edits, though they need a little more cleanup than I would really like, turn out to be good reminders of information that should be added. So it seemed like a good idea to give this one the benefit of the doubt for a while. Dvgrn (talk) 00:07, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

I agree with the fact that this is not notable. I just USE it a lot in my herschel conduits to replace 2 eater 1s.

I moved this page back due to Sokwe.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Entity Valkyrie (talkcontribs) 02:41, 1 November 2018‎

When you create a new page like this instead of moving an existing one, you'll lose any previous history once the existing page gets deleted. In general it will probably be better to just wait for the page to be moved... but maybe we can get to the point where this kind of thing doesn't happen so often, anyway!
Also, the link in 68P9 is going to break again when the 22-bit eater page goes missing. It would be nice if things like this could get cleaned up by whoever does the page-moving -- this kind of thing won't always be noticed by anyone else. Dvgrn (talk) 17:37, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
If you agree that it's not notable, why did you make an article about it? Ian07 (talk) 12:59, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
That's why I moved it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Entity Valkyrie (talkcontribs)
Technically, as mentioned above, you didn’t move the page, you created a new copy. Makes it much harder to clean up after when there are different comments on two versions. Also, ‘’’please’’’ add four tildes at the end, every time you type something like the above. Dvgrn (talk) 00:51, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
