Double post for another rule. The only difference between this rule and Life is that S2a does not happen for an "old" cell with an "old" orthogonal neighbour and a "new" diagonal neighbour.

I found two variants with similar rulestrings.

One is B34j/S2-i3-k with its wonderful 24c/102 diagonal spaceship (can come from B-heptomino):

This one is really very, very, very close. The difference is that cells has a "ninth neighbor" that counts as on when all four of the cells one-cell distance from the cell orthogonally are on. Most patterns from CGoL behave identically, but some differs a lot, especially for methuselahs:

The problem is that there was no link or mention of previous discussion, when you reposted the c/12d. So it was hard to know (by seeing your post) that there was already relevant previous discussion and relevant discoveries. It was reposted as if it was new.
(I just happened to remember that I saw the c/12d before.)
