Halfway between two Life-like cellular automata

Pick two Life-like cellular automata that are only one neighbour-counting condition away from each other. Unpack the differing condition into isotropic subconditions. Choose an isotropic CA that is midway between the two Life-like CA, with its definition including half of the differing subconditions and excluding the other half.

Is "betweening" B4 or S4 off the table, since they have an odd number of transitions? (13)

I'm not sure how to handle the B4/S4 cases best (13 is not divisible by 2). One possibility is indeed to exclude them as "offtopic". Another way is to include as many subconditions as possible, while still avoiding minuses in the canonical rulestring. That means including =7 out of 13 subconditions, with 1716 rules in the set.
