F209:

Code: Select all

rle removed
It has RT69 and x=56 y=-20
The RT69 is due to FNG of H output. I don't try with eater 5, perhaps the RT can be less than 69.

EDIT by dvgrn: Yeah, even a regular fishhook eater to suppress the glider is good enough. Repeat time is 66, which is due to the initial H-to-pi conduit. The pi-to-H part has the same repeat time as the other F209 does -- 60 ticks.

Using a new W to H found by me : WFx71H (I believe I'm the first),
I managed a HLx237H (HL166W + WFx71H) with a repeat time of 138 due to the back reaction of the new W to H.
x=36, y=-38

Is there a way to extract the pi here?

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 17, rule = B3/S23

I'm not aware of any stable "pi-to-something" conduits that could be appended to the G -> pi catalyst (G-to-pi catalyst (August 2023)) to safely move the reaction away.

It should be possible to assemble an engineered "conduit" that technically solves the puzzle, e.g. using this reaction:

Code: Select all

x = 25, y = 27, rule = B3/S23
bo$2bo$3o6$16b2o$15bo2bo$15bo2bo$16b2o5b2o$23b2o3$19b2o$19b2o2$8b2o$8b
o2bob2o$9b3obo$13bo$9b3ob3o$8bo2b2o3bo$8b2o4b2o$10b4o$10bo2bo!
But then you will need to append a recovery mechanism that uses the extracted glider to delete the leftover beehive and rebuild the pond+block constellation, which will result in a large slow useless device.
