Is this pi blinker to glider reaction new, or I'm stupid?

The new blinkers are at a different spacing from the old ones, so it can't be reused.
becomes partially reburnable if staggered? still needs a source of blinkers, though

A Glider can replace the second natural Glider of a H on a different lane (4hd) and timing (15 ticks).
It's a pseudo-heisenburp as the Glider is partially damaged (edit: but doesn't loose any timing).

It works with Fx119 as shown below.

Here is a B-to-G period-doubler

Boat present: B converts boat into glider

The problem is, it's almost impossible to get the B in (unless we find a conduit that sends the B back into itself, or a C-heptomino),but if we do find a way to do that using conduits, we might be able to double glider streams using this or use this as a sort of memory cell where the boat represents the state.

Unfortunately, predecessors of B-heptominoes pretty much always move forward, so pretty much anything will hit the boat.

There're many oscillators that works in both B3/S23 and B3/S234c (Conway++). Therefore, I constructed a small diagonal on-off oscillator with rotor having 4c neighbors. This cause it to become a still life in Conway++. It can been welded with catalysts, which can help to construct endemic objects.

However, this oscillator is very small, so I'm 75% positive that it's known.

This is the smallest casing I found so far:

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 8, rule = B3/S23

p28 wick based on the two pond and two block reaction
The earliest mention I could find of this wick is here, where I attributed it to Jason Summers. However, I can't find any mention of the wick by Summers.

It was first stabilized by Scorbie here using the p14 bi-block hassler. The 34P14 shuttle support was first noted by praosylen and myself here:

New sparky p14 shuttle found by carybe (again):

Code: Select all

It has exactly the same symmetry as the tumbler, and even looks a bit like a larger version of it. Isn't there some pond hassler wick that this could support?
Yes it can:

I think this was simply an error in the article. It's not really a p22 wick in a meaningful sense. That "wick" could work at any period, given the proper sparkers:

I've been recently trying to build a super-long lasting novelty generator. I had used patterns such as the primer to build it. On today, I have built one that I don't know whether it will ever go boring. Here's the pattern:

Code: Select all

x = 321, y = 389, rule = B3/S23
313bobo$312bo$313bo2bo$315b3o7$307bo$306b3o2$306b3o9b2o$307b2ob2o7b2o$
309bo9bo353$5bo10bo$4bobo8bobo$5bo8bo2bo$15b2o$bo$obo$bo10b2o$12b2o4$
19bo$6b2o10b3o$6b2o9bo2bo$2bo14b3o$bobo14bo$o2bo$b2o10b2o$12bob2o$11b
2obo$12b2o!
It never seems to bore the back, destroy the engine, or gets stopped by an eater. It lasts for at least 30,000,000 generations. You are welcome to determine the fate of the pattern that I just described. I think it is a close relative to Pigeon's original p229689152 puffer.
[just kidding. Gets stopped by an eater at around gen 95,000,000]

Hi, I am currently having so much fun with a switch engine that shoots backwards gliders. I have a pattern that has an unknown fate, and it is shown below:

Code: Select all

x = 364, y = 383, rule = B3/S23
356bobo$355bo$356bo2bo$358b3o7$350bo$349b3o2$349b3o9b2o$350b2ob2o7b2o$

I don't known the name of this spaceship.
When it collides with 2 Bocks or 2 Behives, it produces cleanly 2 gliders.
Is it known ?
I use one of them in this pattern : viewtopic.php?f=2&t=337&p=182032#p182032

You can try pasting the two-state RLE of the spaceship into the form on the page https://conwaylife.com/ref/mniemiec/lifesrch.htm and clicking "Search".
In this case, doing that will show you information about the pattern, including the name "Schick ship behind two LWSS", a link "Category --> c/2 orthogonal 2-spaceship Schick ship flotilla", and a link to the syntheses file: https://conwaylife.com/ref/mniemiec/ss/39lsl.rle

That search tool belongs to Mark D. Niemiec's Life Page ( https://conwaylife.com/ref/mniemiec/lifepage.htm ).

You can also try pasting the two-state RLE of the spaceship into the form on the Catagolue page https://catagolue.hatsya.com/object and clicking "Identify".
In this case, doing that will send you to the page xq12_fh1i0i1hfzw8sms8zxfjf "Schick engine".

Fairly fast g+block-to-g+h, wonder if that block could be put back by some means given the clearance

Is there a way to do a barrister search and make a "baitless snark" using this reaction?

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 8, rule = B3/S23
