AK-94 is a 2-barrelled period-94 glider gun powered by the AK-47 reaction. The form shown to the right was completed by Mike Playle on May 9, 2013, who found additional stable catalysts with Bellman to eat the byproduct traffic lights.[1] Before discovery of these catalysts, removal of traffic lights required either multiple copies of the reaction as in P94S, or a special sparker as shown below.

A capped version of AK-94 is one of the honey farm shuttles, and it was the smallest known period-94 oscillator until the discovery of p94 R-pentomino hassler.
Glider synthesis
In July 2014 Martin Grant found a 60-glider synthesis for the one-barreled gun, which can be trivially turned into a two-barreled gun by removing two gliders.[3] On May 20, 2019, Jeremy Tan reduced this to 52 gliders for the one-barreled gun and 50 gliders for the two-barreled version.[4]
In other rules
In EightLife (B3/S238), the AK-94 has a slightly different evolutionary sequence from generation 34 to 37 that does not destroy the gun, so one can actually use AK-94 under this rule.
In Pedestrian Life (B38/S23), where traffic light predecessors die out naturally, there is no need for additional catalysts:
