That depends - a gemioid can stabilise one, or it can be pertubed to release only these spaceships, although both are ridiculously difficult.

Yes, it maybe possible. I'm thinking of making a geminoid-like design that destroys the ashes using spaceships.

the frontend fires one pair of 'king bee's (as they have been called) per 100 iterations, half of which collide with the forward gliders from behind them to become blocks

This is a dubously 'cleaner' trail (p400 rather than p700, but 289 cells wide rather than 193) than the one from the leading edges of
