If the aim is to show the same set of oscillators to LifeWiki readers without need to install Golly, then a dedicated page may work.

The aim is to "complete" the LifeWiki traffic light hassler collection. If we have pages for non-pre-pulsar traffic light hasslers and for pre-pulsar shuttles, then it seems like we should include these pre-pulsar hasslers somewhere. My other aim is to modify traffic-light-hasslers.rle in the Golly pattern collection to only display one oscillator of each period and use the pattern comments to provide links to the wiki pages. Without a wiki page including the above collection of pre-pulsar hasslers, this modification would cause information loss.

We all know that drifty eater 3 exists. However, I found that it's clearance isn't that good. So I've modified it to have more clearance!

The catalyst variant on the right doesn't really have an unambiguously-better clearance. (It may not fit geometrically in places where the other one fits.)
The main difference I can see in the posted pattern, is that the catalyst variant on the right can eat gliders on a lane where the catalyst variant on the left would fail. But that is achieved at the cost of making its clearance worse in certain ways. Example:

Rule:testing_BlueOrangeParasite was not meant to be uploaded. It is a testing rulefile that was posted in response to a request, and is meant to be either renamed before actual use (if it works as needed) or rejected (if it does not work correctly due to some misunderstanding).
I just returned back to the forum post where I posted that rulefile, and changed the rulename, to hopefully avoid any more accidental uploads in future.

I suspect that many other uploaded rulefiles in the Rule: namespace should also be removed. It appears that many of them were uploaded semi-automatically, without anyone explicitly requesting that.

The rules temporarily named "your_rule_name" and testing_RealLife_or_maybe_not were never meant to be actually posted on the wiki (Rule:your_rule_name, Rule:testing_RealLife_or_maybe_not).
The intent was to provide an incomplete template (so that the person who requested the rule would change at least the name, and possibly the rule as well). It's plausible that there will be other ruletables of this kind posted with temporary name "your_rule_name", etc.

Ian07 recently did a scan of forum postings and uploaded rules that had been created since the last such scan. Nobody has ever objected to this kind of thing before. We need to be able to do this kind of scan without second-guessing each individual rule -- so at the very least, future "test" rule posts would need to be very clearly labeled as such.

But really "no uploading rules unless allowed by the creator" isn't likely to become a workable criterion even then. This kind of thing is often done automatically or semi-automatically, via a scraper script.

I'm not convinced that it is helpful to do nearly-automatic uploading of all rulefiles (whether requested by someone or not).

At the very least, I think rulefiles should not be uploaded, unless they are actually used by someone. Just posting a ruletable (that is then never used again) should not trigger a semi-automatic upload.

A valid case when it is likely helpful to upload a rulefile, is when someone using the @RULE explicitly requested that.
Another valid case when it is likely helpful to upload a rulefile, is when there are multiple other forum posts using the same @RULE by the same rulename.

I just found an interesting note regarding what RGB332 is.

If it is a specific well-defined palette that is considered useful to have available in Golly/LifeViewer, then how about putting the expected palette into a separate rulefile Rule:RGB332?
(And leaving Rule:Display256 unchanged, for reasons already explained. When opening a pattern from an unknown rule that probably has only a few cellstates, it is best if those cellstates are visually distinct.)

I'll be bold here and try to find time to check in a built-in rule that can be used. Since I'd like state N+1 to be reliably distinguishable from state N, all the way through, I don't think squareroot12621's 216 web-safe colors are quite what's wanted. Unless someone has a better list of colors, probably I'll just go with Golly's default palette (i.e., what you get if you switch off the "gradient" application in Preferences.) That's from algos.cpp:

RGB332 feels similar to what I described above. You would still want to increment 75 at a time to avoid similar colors next to each other, though.
