Is there a replacement catalyst for the fishhook (or another way to prevent the relevant region from destroying the long hook)?

The first post of the Elementary Conduits thread links to the latest versions that are available, as far as I know.

Your new format is one option, and the latest version buildable by script is the other. Keeping each conduit in a separate file has a lot more potential for making the collection into a real searchable database in the long run.

Cross-post to that thread any new discoveries like this one. That should at least prevent them from getting completely lost.

Basically HSE7T14 and HNW32T120 fused, not sure if one knew that was a thing. Probably should be added to the collection as HSE7T14c, since the other is 2nd natural glider from the H anyways.

Addendum, nevermind, HSE7T14a without the hive does exactly the same, and has better repeat time, not that it is obvious that hive is a eater there. anyways, here is some more chaos, hive dependent H output (with some boat I could not get rid of)

H-to-symmetric explosion with crazy good clearance:

Is this known? It came up when doing a large-area/low active cells barrister search on H--the weld here is nontrivial.

There's a known spartan version as the starting of HR160C:

Code: Select all

x = 32, y = 33, rule = B3/S23
21b2o$21bobo$22bo4$29bo$28bobo$29bo10$30b2o$30b2o2$9bo$9bobo$9b3o$11b
o5$2b2o$3bo$3o$o!
How I found it: Accidently rediscovered HR160C using your partial, checked the conduits collection, found a conduit with the exact same labeling, and realized it did the same thing with spartan catalysts. Your partial might allow for conduits that otherwise don't work with the spartan version, however.
My new p2p:

Code: Select all

x = 20, y = 13, rule = B3/S23

I was wondering in anyone tried to get something out of that hive + glider mess, since that can +- be initiated well with that hive factory:

Code: Select all

x = 48, y = 54, rule = LifeHistory

This factory is also yet another hive stopper, and well it has good clearance.

Addendum: found something, but it leaves that main problematic blinker behind...

Crossposting: I came across this H-to-(G plus edgy unnamed region) yesterday in an old discord message from Kazyan and found a H-to-B with it (see the "hunting of the elementary conduits" thread). There's probably more to be found. Most useful catalyst placement found yet is marked.

edit: yeah I'm aware it's a known H-to-G. I'm just surprised there aren't more conduits with this start. The FNG gets in the way a little bit, but as that H-to-B shows, there is enough room to redirect the explosion without sacrificing input clearance.

edit 2: this new H catalyst gives a H-to-C, but it's unconnectable. Rewinding to a B yields B-> edgy explosion, though:

Code: Select all

x = 22, y = 19, rule = LifeHistory

The resulting H-to-G is NW16T145.

This Galumpherian little contraption edgeshoots a honey farm interacting with an unnamed active region. Glider to something is bound to be on the horizon.

Got some g-to-b, but it does not seems to be to work as a g1-to-h with dependent block, though that was close:
