Probably because only the serious math/science/programming/engineering types will really "fit in" well ?

Or, as I suspect, are you thinking that we should try to improve, refine and perfect the Community Members,

till they become The Best Ever Life Enthusiasts ?

No I do not think it makes sense to strive to perfection. That would be misguided.

On the other hand I do not think it makes much sense to count registered user accounts and set related goals. That is also misguided.
This community is relatively small, and will likely remain small as long as it exists. (Although there are more people interested in cellular automata than just those registered here on this forum/wiki/discord.)
