'Skimmers'
A skimmer (name by MagmaMcFry#3139 on the Conwaylife Lounge) is a 'spaceship' that moves along the edge of an agar, without disrupting it. Have any of these been discovered in any rule?

Grayships need to be stabilized at their sides. Does that count? I guess it depends on what the boundary of the agar is. You can mine lots of good "skimmers" out of recent discussion in the Spaceship Discussion thread between Hartmut Holzwart, Keith Amling, Sokwe, and others... but only if there's a grayship that at some stage produces the exact same boundary between agar and empty space that you want to run your "skimmer" on.

p4 lightspeed skimmer which travels on boundary of blocks, but offsets the blocks by 2 and consumes 2 rows of zebra stripes:
A pair of them leaves the blocks with 0 offset, but of course consumes 4 rows of stripes.
There's also a way to lay p4 blocks with the ants based zebra adder. Now just need a way to connect these parts up together to leave an unchanged boundary.
Any suggestions what to call a skimmer that leaves the boundary unchanged? Or perhaps a different name for these ones that do change the boundary.

I wanted to try a spacefiller on a twisted torus with one infinite dimension, but Golly doesn't seem to support that -- or am I just doing something silly? Neither LifeViewer nor Golly seem to be happy with the ":T128,0+2" variant below.
So instead we get a thoroughly doomed spacefiller. Spacefillers in bounded universes are never particularly happy, I guess:

I encountered the same limitation in Golly, so I don't think it's just you doing something silly.
Further thought on naming: on Discord it was pointed out to me that using the "to make fine adjustment" definition of trim means the name makes sense for both skimmers that add to and subtract from the agar. I combined those components into a single pattern in a toroidal universe.
The skimmer on the top has (hopefully) more easily recognisable components (at the cost of being longer), and is combined with the smaller skimmer posted by lllllllllwith10ls.
The skimmer on the bottom is intended to be shorter, and it doesn't use all known components.
