Please, Nathaniel, add transparency!
Set the number right next to size= to 1.

Testing:
This text size is same as that text size on my device
Output on my browser:
This text size is same as that text size on my device

What happens to really tiny text is a browser-specific implementation detail, I think. Here's what size-1 looks like on my laptop, running the latest version of Chrome. Notice the size=1 "that text size on my device" is completely invisible.

Don't Be Cryptic
I've mentioned elsewhere recently that I'd like to start discouraging anyone from using "size=1" in posts -- or really any text below about size=75. Posting "size=1" or even "size=25" text is very much like posting RLE with no useful labels, or posting screenshots instead of RLE -- it makes other people do an unnecessary amount of work.

It seems reasonable to make the text you're posting actually readable for everyone, or else simply leave it out entirely.

No, it's not completely invisible, and not invisible at all. The text is really just very^5 tiny.

Sometimes spoilers (which is in case the answer is too hard to find) could be hidden (because it shouldn't be normally present) by using size=1 tags.

Technically you're not completely wrong about that -- if I crank up Chrome to maximum zoom, I get this:
size-1-text-at-max-zoom.png
size-1-text-at-max-zoom.png (28.93 KiB) Viewed 369 times
The size-1 text is not "completely invisible", in the sense that there's a visible row of 9 pixels. But it's a long, long, long way from being readable. You could make a good case for "that's not really even text at all".

Spoilers are a possible somewhat valid use of Stupidly Tiny Text (TM), but there are other options:

Code: Select all

Scroll right for spoiler This might be a less cryptic way of hiding spoilers at full size, so that people can see them when they want to see them.

Code: Select all

Scroll down for spoiler

This also might be a less cryptic way of hiding spoilers at full size, so people can see them when they want to see them.
So I'd still suggest that "size=1" text, or anything less than "size=75", is probably usually not the best choice. Please find less cryptic alternatives wherever possible.

Guys... I'm back...!!

...maybe.

I think I'm no longer interested in inventing new CA, because I have to awful feelings:
1. I have seen everything. Still lifes, oscillators, spaceships, breeders... maybe some rarer, like fillers... Stable, chaotic, explosive, logical rules... There is nothing left to discover. No more possible behaviours, no more possible structure types.
2. Everything has been invented before. Even if I discovered something fun, it's either uninteresting or it was discovered before.

Try to engineer signal circuitries rules and see what would random soups behave like.

What's that?

Is it something made of something?

Code: Select all

x = 31, y = 13, rule = C
8.2X2.3X.3X.X.X$8.X.X.X3.X3.X.X$8.X.X.3X.3X.X.X$8.2X2.X5.X.X.X$8.X.X.
