Universal constructors can be used to create a SMOS with any number of recipies. A while ago, in a different rulespace, I found a rule with a ship that is an SMOS (using symmetric ships) in some phases, and an SMOI in others; in other words, it is a SMOS/SMOI. The rule also has a second SMOS formed from 2 of the SMOS/SMOI engines, but it is not an SMOS of the SMOS/SMOI. All of this makes a lot more sense when you run the following pattern.
