Even if one sticks with making an Octomino II, there are other Octomino II-accepting conduits that work here. For one thing, an Octomino II turns into two R-sequences, and one could delete one of them with an eater 5. Also, here is a way that turns it into a B-sequence. (It's equivalent to just deleting one of the R-sequences then using RF28B on the other; I'm only bothering to mention it because two blocks are cheaper than a boat and an eater 5.)
