Double-edged sword

Post by PkmnQ » July 27th, 2019, 3:02 am

Ok, so we start with a good thing, turn it bad, then good, then bad.

Example:
Aiden: I found a crawler.
Ben: Unfortunately, it is faster than c/2.
Carlos: Luckily, it has a reflector.
Daniel: Which acts like a 2c/3 turner.

Alright, Game (e^iτ)!
It's Saturday!

Fortunately that means he'll bake a cake.

Unfortunately, the weekender was your best friend.

Also, game e^tau? I think you're missing an i there.

Yes, toads are a good source of protein

Unfortunately this protein

Code: Select all

isn't digestible (EDIT: or viewable?) for humans.

However, it can be rephased into a p19

(If it actually does I will  )

Meaning that time was wasted looking into the 2c/3 wire.
Now excuse me while I try to find a loaf puffer, then synthesize it, then make a glider shoot into a loaf constellation to create that synthesis, and make a slow salvo with a loaf seed to make the constellation.

You need a newline after rule = B3/S23:

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 13, rule = B3/S23

Fortunately rowett spotted the problem and suggested a solution.
Unfortunately, since the above unviewable effect is the result of direct copy-and-paste from Lifewiki on my phone, I guess this implies some sort of modification to Lifewiki's RLE line separators, which may be hard work.

Unfortunately, the "p40 moose honey farm hassler" (apgcode xp40_62sgw252y8252wgs26zoge21x75596y069557x12egozggymggz10nk8xeaa96y069aaex8kn01z643x4a4y84a4x346)
fails to exist in the cellular automaton "TDryHighEightMirrorPedestrianLife" (also known as "PedestrianDryIronMirrorTSalad", defined by the string "B2i3-kq4cj678/S2-i34q8" written using Hensel notation).

Luckily, there are infinitely many other cellular automata where the same p40 hassler oscillator does exist, including 2^9 = 512 two-state isotropic CA with range-1 Moore neighbourhood. Just start with Conway's Life (B3/S23), and toggle any subset of { B3y, B5c, B5n, B7c, S4c, S5k, S6e, S6i, S6k }. It will evolve the same way.

The current glider synthesis from Catagolue:

Code: Select all

#C [[ GRID MAXGRIDSIZE 14 THEME Catagolue ]]
#CSYNTH xp40_62sgw252y8252wgs26zoge21x75596y069557x12egozggymggz10nk8xeaa96y069aaex8kn01z643x4a4y84a4x346 costs 42 gliders (true).

Unfortunately, nobody needs to synthesize the p40 moose honey farm hassler.

Fortunately, long moose antlers (xs17_31e88gzc8711) are very valuable on the black market.

Unfortunately, I had to put the apgcode, as this would be mindless non-academic chat if it wasn't.

Fortunately, the admins are on vacation, so they will be too busy Scuba diving to notice any lack of apgcode in the previous post.

Unfortunately, One of the admins has decided to spend their holidays in a cyber cafe, where they can see that post.

Unfortunately, I failed to notice any lack of apgcode in the penultimate post (which does contain xs17_31e88gzc8711 which is an apgcode) despite not being too busy atm to read the post.
