That is amazing
The movement of that spaceship is very novel.

If I recall correctly, that spaceship had a number of around 160 on the Fano database, indicating it's been known for a while.

An unusual 8c/671 SMOS composed of two 6c/42o's
in the same direction. Its evolution also involves two transient copies of the same ship, heading inward, as well as four triplets.

No, but there is a dedicated OMOS thread somewhere.

That's quite interesting. I guess we could call it a self-referential SMoS. I wonder what kinds of interactions that allows for.
And welcome to the SMoS hunting club
Edit: Ah, I just remembered that someone already coined the term "spaceship made of itself" (SMOI) for this type of pattern, and there are several examples already in this thread.

Heh, I just got really lucky when trying to weld two rules together for a mashup rule (to reduce the total number of states needed). Try removing S6e, and you'll see that it was supposed to be a c/6 orthogonal spaceship.

I think a lot of things like this can be found in the 5s collection, as I mentioned somewhere else before.(how can I find a smos, only with golly and python?)

Most of the SMOS here have been found with just those 2 tools.
I've posted the instructions here before, but in brief:
1. Set up an initial pattern of 2 spaceships colliding somewhat far apart so they dont collide before 1 cycle of the ship
2. Run searchRule2-matchPatt.py from 5S
3. Enter the period of the ship for the generations to match
4. wait

Well, in my case, I didn't even need that script. I just mutated the wrong transition by mistake, and then it started SMOSing on me.
