Pattern:

Jam is p3

The fact that you edited and replaced "needle" with "thread" is a bit misleading. But there is clearly a pattern now: each mentioned object has a sort of "connection" with the last. Apple makes phones, phones have buttons, buttons are attached to threads, forum threads contain posts, posts are similar to sticks, "sticks and stones" is a saying. So, I enter with a glass house.

(My initial guess of "bacterium" was that the objects were in decreasing order of size, apple > phone > button > needle > bacterium.)
