It switches between that state and the touching corners disappearing. I don't doubt that someone's already found this, but I was simply more curious as to why is wasn't on the wiki (that I could find) or the Game of Life information site.
Second 2 period oscillator
Second 2 period oscillator
I'm obviously new here, so forgive me if I missed something glaringly obvious please, but when I was looking through the wiki I noticed it listed only one type of 2 period oscillator, the blinker. However, what about this one?

Welcome to the forum!
That oscillator is called a beacon, and it's pretty well known. You're obviously new to this forum and maybe also Conway's Game of Life, so don't feel bad.

Are you sure you have the right Wiki? From the main page there is a panel including the option "oscillators." Selecting that, there is a huge array of oscillators, but there is a pull down menu allowing the selection of an exact period or range of periods. It is a little tricky to operate and if you press carriage return you have to start over again. Otherwise there are 66 period 2 oscillators to choose from.
