The p6 honey farm hassler is a period-6 oscillator consisting of a pre-honey farm hassled by surrounding components.
JP21 found the base reaction on January 5, 2022,[1] and a 598-cell completion on January 7.[2] A much smaller, 202-cell solution was found by Extrementhusiast on January 8,[3] further reduced to 198 cells by JP21.[4] A 137-cell form was found by Scorbie on January 9,[5] reduced to 121 cells by Kazyan on the same day.[6]
Before 2023, all known completions used supporting components that are not stable on their own; hence the oscillator was not strictly-speaking a hassler, despite the commonly used name "p6 honey farm hassler". In May 2023, Matthias Merzenich used JLS to find a "true" honey farm hassler, in which the honey farm is hassled by (large) components that are stable on their own.[7]
