B35/S236 is a Life-like cellular automaton in which a cell survives from one generation to the next if it has 2, 3 or 6 neighbours, and is born if it has 3 or 5 neighbours.
This rule is highly explosive, and almost every sufficiently large pattern will quickly evolve into a spacefiller-like structure, with large numbers of spaceships often emerging from the surface.

David Eppstein and Dean Hickerson proved that B35/S236 has a universal computer and universal constructor, using the same method of proof that John Conway used to prove that Life is universal.[2]
