I'm Tanner Jacobi, another Life enthusiast. I've contributed to a few things: improving the synthesis for the dart, and then progressively greater roles in the first syntheses for the crab, 30P5H2V0, Pushalong 1, and x66. I've also improved syntheses for rare natural objects by looking at apgsearch results, notably the fore and back and Eater 2.

Unfinished Projects

Partial synthesis of the weekender. My synthesis method is "reduce to Lovecraftian still lifes, then show them to Martin Grant", and I expect this one will be no different.

c/8 orthogonal spaceship. The problem with this is that apparently anything can be made into a partial that just won't stay reasonably narrow--lots of freedom when you have 8 phases to work with--but there's a sparking front end and a blinker-push reaction that I'm looking into.

Finding a stable microreflector with Bellman, based on the half-blockade + G -> G reaction. The following input file found nothing after finishing at over 2,000,000,000 trials, so I'm searching with max-active = 11 and repair-interval = 18 this time:
