48P22.1 is an unnamed period-22 oscillator, discovered by Nicolay Beluchenko on 4 March 2009.[1] It first appeared semi-naturally on Catagolue in July 2016, in a haul submitted by Tanner Jacobi.[2]

Every cell in this oscillator has a period of 22, making it the first known strictly volatile period-22 oscillator.

A 48-glider synthesis for the oscillator was found before April 27, 2019,[3] which was later improved to 36 gliders.[4]
