p79 pi-heptomino hassler is the smallest known period-79 oscillator, found by Luke Kiernan on September 27, 2022[1][2] using symmetric CatForce. It is also the first known oscillator of this period whose period is not adjustable.
A 31-glider synthesis exists for the variant shown below, where the snakes are replaced with fishhooks using the same snake rock reaction.

On October 10, 2023, KtT found a 43-glider synthesis of the canonical form of the oscillator,[3][4] which Chris857 reduced to 35 gliders the next day.[5][6]
