A period-60 glider gun is any glider gun with true period 60.

The first true period 60 gun to be discovered is the Twogun, found by Bill Gosper; it is shown in the infobox. It is composed of two Gosper glider guns. There are several other ways to create a p60 gun from two p30 guns using period-doubling reactions.

A smaller p60 gun with bounding box 36 × 27 = 972 cells, containing Eye of Sauron, was found by 2718281828 in November 2018, and reduced by Simon Ekström to 35 × 27 = 945 cells on the next day.

In November 2022, a smaller gun (36 × 23 = 828 cells) was found by Entity Valkyrie 2; this is the smallest known true period 60 gun. Note that the still life it uses as a catalyst, xs29_8e1lmz3lla252z056, can be replaced with the smaller xs25_2lla8k8z3egld, which has occurred naturally, making it Spartan.
